Government of Jammu and Kashmir Approves Creation of 178 Posts for High Court of J&K and Ladakh
In a significant move to strengthen judicial administration, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the creation of 178 new posts across various categories for the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The decision was taken as per Council of Ministers Decision No. 027/03/2025 dated 24-02-2025.

- Junior Scale Stenographer
- Head Assistant
- Steno Typist
- Restorer
- Jamadar
- Orderly
- Staff Car Driver

Conditions for the New Appointments
The creation of these posts is subject to the following conditions:
- Pay Scale & Recruitment Rules: The posts shall be governed by the applicable pay levels as prescribed under the relevant Recruitment Rules.
- Amendment of Recruitment Rules: The High Court of J&K and Ladakh shall amend the relevant recruitment rules in line with this approval.
- Compliance with Existing Regulations: The High Court Registry must ensure adherence to Notification S.O. No. 133 dated 29-03-2022 and S.O. No. 151 dated 04-04-2022, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD). Additionally, all Class-IV posts (except Sanitation Workers) shall be included under the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) category.
This decision has been issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department, as conveyed through U.O. No. FD-Code/24/2025-02-129 dated 27-01-2025.

The creation of these 178 posts is expected to enhance the efficiency and functioning of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, ensuring better judicial administration and service delivery.
