“Heatwave Hits J&K: Srinagar Sees 33.3°C, Jammu Reaches 44.3°C” : SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has issued a severe heatwave alert for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting dry and hot weather conditions across the region for the next five days.

Maximum temperatures are expected to rise significantly during this period. In the Kashmir plains, temperatures may touch 35°C, while in the Jammu plains, day temperatures are likely to reach 46–47°C.
Meanwhile above-normal temperatures across most parts of the Union Territory today. In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded a maximum of 33.3°C, which is 5.3°C above normal. Qazigund recorded 33.6°C (6.8°C above normal), Pahalgam 28.7°C (4.8°C above normal), Kupwara 32.5°C (4.5°C above normal), Kokernag 30.8°C (4.2°C above normal), and Gulmarg 23.0°C (4.3°C above normal).In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded 44.3°C (4.7°C above normal), Banihal 32.8°C (4.3°C above normal), Batote 33.6°C (5.5°C above normal), Bhaderwah 33.0°C (3.2°C above normal), and Katra 40.2°C (4.2°C above normal).
In Ladakh, Leh recorded 26.9°C, while Kargil stood at 27.9°C.
