IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma fit for the match, captain made a big statement on Axar Patel’s form

New Delhi: Team India is all set to play the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against England on Thursday.  The Indian team topping Group 2 is confident about this big match.  However, the tension has increased in Team India on choosing one of Axar Patel’s Yuzvendra Chahal and Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant.  Indian captain Rohit Sharma addressed the media at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.  He also declared that he was fit after he injured his arm during a practice session on Tuesday.

Will do what you are doing till now

“Definitely this is an opportunity for us to do what we wanted to do,” he said.  We have done well in this tournament and need to stick to what we are doing.  Trust what we’ve been doing so far.  Knockout games are important.

 be proud of yourself

Hitman added, “As players and teams it is important that we play and be proud of where we have come from.  Tomorrow we have to play well to get the result.  If you do well in knockout matches, it gives you confidence.  A bad game in knockout can’t truly define you.

Not worried about letter form

On the form of Akshar, the captain said – To be honest, I am not really worried about Akshar.  He hasn’t bowled many overs.  Barring Sydney, many grounds have helped the fast bowlers.  A bad tournament for any player does not mean that he is not bowling well.  It is important for me to support him.  His strength in the power play has been bowling well.

On the question of Rishabh Pant, the captain said – We wanted to give time to Rishabh.  We have told people that they have to be ready for this.  We wanted to give chances to the left-handers against the spinners in the middle overs.

Beating England in England is a challenge and we overcame it and it will boost our confidence, but we know the nature of T20 cricket.  India has won 12 matches against England while England has managed to win 10 matches.
