SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has promoted 51 officers to the Selection Grade of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), as per a government order issued on Tuesday. The promoted officers will now serve in Level 12 (₹78,800-₹2,09,200) with effect from December 5, 2024.

According to the order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the promoted officers include Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Muzamil Maqbool Beigh, Tanveer-ul-Majid Wani, and Ab. Baseer Ahmad, among others. Additionally, officers currently serving as Deputy Secretaries at various departments have been designated as Additional Secretaries. The rest will continue at their present postings until further orders.
The government stated that the promotions are subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions before the competent courts. The order was issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, M. Raju, IAS.
Senior government officials, including the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, and Divisional Commissioners, have been directed to facilitate the implementation of the order. The decision aligns with the administration’s commitment to strengthening the bureaucratic framework of Jammu and Kashmir.
