SRINAGAR: A man was killed during a scuffle between two parties over the installation of an electric transformer in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday evening.
An official said that the dispute occurred in Dohama village of Vilgam, Handwara, and escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the death of one individual.
“The deceased has been identified as Khazir Mohammad Malik, son of Sunaullah Malik, a resident of Dahama, Handwara. The body is currently in the hospital mortuary and will be handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities,” the official said.
Police have registered an FIR and initiated proceedings under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
